Condensing your entire life story into a single application can be an incredibly stressful experience. But it gets even more stressful when you feel pressured to tell a story that isn’t yours – when you feel that your story isn’t good enough.
We’ll incorporate mindfulness practices to fully embrace your life experiences, plumb their depths, and unearth your core story – a story so lived-in, so doggedly yours, that it transforms an otherwise impersonal application into a personal connection.
Oftentimes students want to partner for the entire duration of this journey, from beginning to end. Other times, students use their personal insight and self-knowledge to select the specific sections of the application for which they’ll seek support. As always in our work together, the choice is entirely yours.
School List + Strategic Program Selection
What Happens: Before we start, we want to know where we’re headed. We’ll take a thorough look at your personal aspirations and achievements to select majors that are the natural and compelling consequence of your past accomplishments, and the precursor of an engaged and expert future. Then we’ll construct a personally tailored school list that combines your unique balance of ambition and prudence.
How We’ll Do It: Determine Your Destination worksheet, detailed worksheet feedback, and video session.
Activities List, Honors, and Resume
What Happens: We then enter the artist’s studio, as it were, and sculpt your sprawl of past accomplishments into a cohesive description of your core story. The result? A compelling and memorable application narrative that shows how you are the perfect fit for your chosen programs.

Application Portals
What Happens: We’ll make sure that your core story is properly adapted to different portal parameters (Common App, UC, MIT, etc.) and handle all logistical portal questions that arise.
How We’ll Do It: Email correspondence, detailed portal review feedback, and video consulting session
Letters of Recommendation
What Happens: We’ll intentionally select the right recommenders to corroborate your core story. Then, we’ll put together materials to help them understand your story as deeply as you do.
How We’ll Do It: Story Advocates worksheet, detailed worksheet feedback, and video consulting sessions.
Essay Ideating & Editing
What Happens: We’ll mine through the significant, the ostensibly insignificant, the hilarious, and the most desperate moments of your story (trust me, you have them) to select the right topics for your essays. Then we’ll nurture these moments into well-developed narratives that communicate your core story with artistic craft and emotional force.
How We’ll Do It: Writing Your Story worksheet, review of past essays, email correspondence, detailed worksheet feedback, and video consulting sessions.
Interview Prep
What Happens: We’ll coach on skills and techniques to productively work with any emotions that arise surrounding interviews and live performance. Then we’ll develop frameworks to help your story come to life face-to-face.
How We’ll Do It: Talking Your Story worksheet, detailed worksheet feedback, video strategy consulting sessions, and video mock interviews.
Waitlist Support
What Happens: We’ll devise and then implement a strategy to make an even more compelling argument for your core story.
How We’ll Do It: Email correspondence and video consulting sessions.
Post-Acceptance Support
What Happens: We’ll process the results and then make an exciting decision. Then we’ll celebrate. A lot. And then we’ll create a plan to prepare you to gracefully greet challenges and opportunities that await you on campus.
